By Daria Tarasova: The soloist and the permanent leader of the ensemble "Syabry" – the People's Artist of Belarus Anatoly Yarmolenko – turns 70 today. Several generations of fans know and love his famous hits – "Alesya", "Kahanaya", and many others.
Traditionally, Anatoly Yarmolenko will celebrate his birthday on stage at the Philharmonic Society.
Also, this year the 70th anniversary for Anatoly Yarmolenko is not the only important figure. A creative anniversary is celebrated also by his ensemble "Syabry". The ensemble is 45 years today. During this time, under the leadership of Anatoly Yarmolenko, the band recorded over 20 CDs and became a national brand and a living legend of the Belarusian stage.
Belteleradiocompany, the country's main media holding, will congratulate the People's Artist of Belarus, too. This evening, right after Panorama, TV Channel Belarus 1 will air a documentary dedicated Anatoly Yarmolenko. The documentary will feature behind the scenes interviews and black and white chronicle – flashbacks to the beginning of Anatoly Yarmolenko’s career.
