A rich and varied program has been prepared for the Belarusian capital in the Year of Culture. For example, city libraries have started their new project - a poetic theater - which already gathers its first spectators. The central characters of the theater are Belarusian poets and musicians. Reading poetry is transformed here into real theatrical performances.
The series of poetic performances was begun by chairman of Minsk branch of the Writers' Union. Poet Michas Poznyakov timed the meeting to his anniversary.
2016 is the year of the 125th anniversary of Maksim Bogdanovich, the 120th anniversary of Kondrat Krapiva and the 95th anniversary of Ivan Shamyakin. And that is not the full list.
The Year of Culture began in the Concert Hall Upper Town with a music lesson. Chief conductor of the orchestra Nemiga and his students not only played their instruments, but also talked about the history of the oboe, violin, accordion and horns.
This year the reconstruction of the National Film Studio BelarusFilm, Loshitsa Palace of Culture, Youth Theater on the Masherov Avenue will continue. The cinemas Pobeda and Moskva will be renovated. Monuments to composer Stanislaw Moniuszko and writer Vincent Dunin-Marcinkiewicz will be installed in the Upper Town.
