The monument to the Brest Bible will be installed in the city over the Bug to commemorate the 500th anniversary of printing. A contest for the best sketch, where designers, sculptors and everyone from all over Belarus participated, has come to an end, and the results are now out. A total of 10 projects were submitted. Most of all the votes received the work of Anton Nichiporuk from Minsk. This is a stylized book, the relief of which is based on the engravings from the Bible. The contents of this book feature the release date of the Brest Bible – the year 1563.
Today, there are about 120 copies of this unique edition in the world. The Brest Regional Library only has a part of a 100-page book. The draft version made by the winner of the contest will be further worked on. A ready-made sculptural composition is planned to be installed in autumn at the main book depository of the region.
