The 7th Minsk International Christmas Opera Forum has launched at the Bolshoi Theatre with the Carmen opera. Its programme will feature outstanding classic plays, mostly this year’s premieres. Today, Italian tenor Francesco Pio Galasso will perform a duet with the National Opera Theatre’s prima donna Oksana Volkova, accompanied by an orchestra under Spanish conductor Daniel Montane.
In addition to the Belarusian programme, the forum will traditionally feature a foreign troupe – the Odessa Opera and Ballet Theatre will present its most popular play The Queen of Spades.
