The People's Artist of the USSR Tamara Nizhnikova has died today. The opera legend, with a rare soprano died at the 92nd year of life. The future soloist of the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus was born in Samara, sang in a church choir. During the Great Patriotic War she worked in a medical team, she helped the wounded. Tamara Nizhnikova is a graduate of Moscow Conservatory. Tamara Nikolayevna left the stage at 76. but until the last days she remained true to her profession.
Tamara Nizhnikova was awarded with the UNESCO Medal of Victor Hugo.
