A large-scale construction site will unfold in 2020 opposite the Great Patriotic War Museum, on the other side of the Minsk Hero City Stele. In the future, the National History Museum will not be just an exhibition center. The idea is to use the entire main wall as a multimedia screen. The construction of the museum's new building with an area of 18,000 square meters is planned to be financed from the budget.

The National Historical Museum’s exhibition space is currently located in Karl Marx street and occupies 2,000 square meters. Due to lack of space, the collection of rarities is kept in rented premises.
