Purchased from a private individual, the 18th-early 19th century chasuble, consisting of fabric strips resembling Slutsk belts, was initially in a poor condition. Its restoration was made possible by the President’s grant as part of a project on cultural heritage preservation.

Incidentally, the National History Museum of Belarus is one of this year’s recipients of a presidential grant as part of a large-scale interfaith project Belarus. The Revival of Spirituality, which will feature the restored chasuble along with about ten other chasubles from the museum’s collections.
