600 delegates from 24 countries have come to Minsk. The National Library of Belarus gathered hundreds of scientists, book experts and archivists at the International Congress 500 Years of Belarusian Printing. The unique cultural and educational forum is dedicated to the significant anniversary, associated with the creation of the first printed book in the Belarusian and East Slavic lands by Francysk Skaryna. The event is held under the patronage of UNESCO.
The most prominent events of the congress are a meeting of the Eurasian Library Assembly and round tables on documentary heritage, as well as a large-scale exhibition Francysk Skaryna and His Era. The National Library of Belarus will celebrate its 95th anniversary tomorrow.
