"For us it was a unique opportunity to hold an event to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the children’s primer. It was in Belarus that the primer first appeared, so naturally as we are celebrating the 400th anniversary of the primer we felf we had to exhibit a variety of primers of other nations, different people and this year thanks to a fruitful collaboration of several organizations in several countries, we have this unique opportunity."

The exposition is based on the collections of the National Library of Belarus and on the unique collection of the Latvian collector and owner of the world's biggest collection of ABC-books Yuris Tsibuls. Together with the exhibition, an original monument dedicated to the first primer in Belarus will be unveiled tomorrow.
