The audition for the participants of the National Selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest-2018 was held today. There were 62 candidates competing for the right to represent our country at the international competition. A few hours ago, the judges determined the finalists of the project, who will continue to fight for a ticket to the prestigious song contest. For the second time in history Minsk will host the competition.
Applications were received from children aged 9 to 14 from all regions of Belarus. Traditionally, the greatest number of songs came from the capital. The children presented their songs live. The jury evaluated the performances.
After heated discussions, the judges chose 10 finalists of the project. They will compete for the right to become the country's voice at the prestigious song contest. The final show will take place no later than on September 15.
This Saturday the finalists of the project will determine the order of their performances at the final gala concert. The draw will take place at noon in Belteleradiocompany. Also, young artists will take part in shooting of postcards.
While the country chooses our representative at the children's Eurovision, Belteleradiocompany is actively preparing to broadcast the international television project. Belarusian composers and authors are already working on the title track of the TV competition. The sketch of the scene is ready.
Meanwhile, the casting of the hosts of Junior Eurovision continues. The main media holding of the country expects applications from both adults and children aged 9 to 14 years. Among the selection criteria are English language proficiency and experience of the work on air.
