By Elena Bormotova: A restoration project of Polotsk’s Holy Transfiguration Church has been suggested to be included in next year’s investment programme. Built in the 12th century by St. Euphrosyne, the church is the only monument of the Polotsk architecture school. Not only its walls, but also the original fresco paintings have been preserved. Belarusian restoration artists and new technologies have made it possible to not only uncover the 12th century murals, but also to preserve later paintings.

The Heritage of St. Euphrosyne of Polotsk is currently on display at the National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve Nesvizh.
