Mogilev declared cultural capital of Belarus and Commonwealth countries for 2013

In the second half of the 16th century and in the middle of the 17th century it was the most powerful and developed economic city in Belarus and the second one in order of importance after Vilno in entire Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
The first textbook on the history of Belarus was written in Mogilev. The first Belarusian dictionary was also published there.
The fact that Mogilev will be next year's cultural capital of the countries of the commonwealth became known at the beginning of December of the last year in Astana. All applicants for this high rank gathered there.
This year cultural Mogilev will get a new image. Reconstruction and capital repair will affect some large facilities. 9 scale projects will be realized there.
