Minsk Through Centuries book presented at international scientific conference in Minsk

A book titled Minsk Through Centuries was presented at an international scientific conference that is taking place in Minsk. The book is dedicated to the 950th anniversary of the city. It is a joint project of the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences and the Minsk City Executive Committee.

A two-day forum is hosted by Minsk City Hall, the Yakub Kolas Central Scientific Library of the NAS of Belarus, and the Institute of History. The past, present and future of our capital will be discussed by more than 100 ethnographers, archeologists, linguists, and art historians from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Germany, and Poland.

Vyacheslav Danilovich, the Director of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus:

"Archaeological findings that were discovered by our archaeologists in the territory of Minsk – at the site of an ancient settlement on the Menka River, that is – are presented at today's archaeological exhibition. We organized it together with the History Museum of Minsk. This is our joint project. The exhibition will work for quite a long time, so everyone will have a chance to come and see these unique archaeological materials."

Today is the second official day of the celebrations of the 950th anniversary of Minsk. In the evening, the Singing Fountains Show will be presented in Victory Park. The Symphony Orchestra of Belarus will perform.
