China was the first to extend its help to Belarus in restoring the museum funds after the Great Patriotic War. During the war the National Art Museum was plundered by the invaders. In fact, funds had to be re-created.

Yelena Senkevich, the leading researcher of the National Art Museum of Belarus: "We received a large number of porcelain, enamels, varnishes and even some works of painting. Gradually, this collection was replenished."

In total, our funds hold more than 300 items from China.

The oldest items of the collection date back to the 16th and 17th centuries. By the way, in medieval Europe, Chinese porcelain was revered as a precious relic.

A special place in the collection of art belongs to this tea service. It was donated by the Chinese government to Joseph Stalin for his 70th birthday. The set of dishes included so many items that it was decided to divide it among the leading museums of the Soviet Union, including the Belarusian one.

Next year, a large-scale exhibition from Beijing will be delivered to Minsk. In October, the Belarusians will present 40 artworks will be presented in the Chinese capital as well.
