Great Patriotic War Museum hosts literary meeting

8 февраля 2017

Yesterday saw a literary meeting hosted by the Great Patriotic War Museum, attended by Belarusian writer Nikolai Metlitsky and his Turkmen counterpart Agageldy Allanazarov.

The museum’s exclusive exhibit is a national carpet hand-woven by Turkmen craftswomen during the war and sent to Belarusian front in 1943 as a sign of respect to Soviet soldiers, wishing them victory. The carpet portrays Konstantin Rokossovsky, the commander of Operation Bagration.

Poems by Turkmen Ogulbike Urazeldyeva translated by Nikolai Metlitsky will soon be published in the Belarusian language.
