Belarus remembers great voices of 20 century

This week, Belarus remembered and said goodbye to the legendary performers of the Soviet stage, the voices of an entire era. Millions of people around the world can confidently say that they grew up with these songs.

On 25 January, Vladimir Vysotsky would have celebrated his 80th anniversary. The superstar, as they would say today, was a true idol of all generations. He passed away t the age of 42. But he forever remains one of the most quoted poets.

The soprano of the Soviet Union and the country’s pop Cinderella – Lyudmila Senchina, died after a long illness. The People's Artist of Russia was buried in Petersburg.

Exactly a year ago, Belarus said goodbye to Alexander Tikhanovich – the legendary "Malinovka". A true national performer and the people's favorite singer could not fight a serious disease. The most famous of the "Verasy" Ensemble, Alexander Tikhanovich was buried at the Eastern cemetery in Minsk next to other great Belarusian figures.
