29 августа 2017

By Olga Medved: Belteleradiocompany, the country’s main media holding, is currently working on a premiere for TV Channel Belarus 3 dedicated to the 500th anniversary of printing in Belarus – a four-episode documentary called Skorina – For God and People. The work on the script for the new project started in early spring.

The legendary 600 Metres Studio is a working platform for such projects as Good Morning, Belarus! and The Main Air. Now, there is a huge library with Francisk Skorina’s books, and Vilnius and Moscow in flames in the background. A modern 200 square meters screen and the studio’s professional equipment make it possible to recreate any century, including the Middle Ages.

The documentary will consist of four 26-minute episodes. Each of the episodes will focus on a particular period of Srokina’s life. Gennady Davydko, Belteleradiocompany’s Chairman, acts as a mediator between the audience and the events in the documentary. He is not just an observer from the outside, but a character in the staged scenes. Professional actors of Minsk’s theatres are also involved in the project.

The documentary will not be the only premiere ahead of the 500th anniversary of printing. In September, Belarus 3 will also broadcast specials on the life and achievements of the great Belarusian. Skorina – For God and People will be released by the end of the month.
