Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk: main awards and unique emotions

By Olga Maslovskaya: For a week now, Vitebsk has lived in a rhythm of a grand festival. This year, the schedule of the 27th International Arts Festival Slavianski Bazaar had over a hundred projects on 17 venues. Representatives of 41 countries – about 5,000 people all in all – took part in the festival, not to mention thousands of tourists.

About 400 journalists fr om Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Israel, Lithuania, Latvia, the US, and Serbia were covering the festival. Today, news feeds are filled with photos from the Summer Amphitheatre, wh ere the closing ceremony of the festival was held yesterday. The show lasted over three hours and was attended by 6,000 people.

During the show, the winners of the Pop Song Performers Contest were awarded. Following the decision of the international jury, the third prize was divided between two contestants – Silvia from Poland and Belarus’ Evgeny Kurchich. The first prize of the contest went to Amre from Kazakhstan and Marcel Rosca from Romania received the Grand Prix.

In the meantime, the holiday continues. Today, Yelena Vaenga's solo concert was held in the Summer Amphitheatre, and tomorrow Vitebsk will welcome the band Mumiy Troll with their programme.
