By Olga Medved: Belarus’ first detective fiction movie Razum (Mind) will premiere at five cinemas today. The film is a debut project by former lawyer Evgeny Kurenchanin.
The 17-day filming process was preceded by over a year of making a script, six months of preparations and agreements and about the same amount of time of the post-production process.
The main filming location was Minsk, with 35 different venues used, including a specialised breeding nursery in the Braslav district.
The debutant director collaborated with young Belarusian fashion designer Apti Eziev, who not only styled the characters, but also starred in an episode of the film.
The characters were played by the actors of the Youth Variety Theatre and Yanka Kupala Theatre. The Belarusians were joined by actors from Morocco, Switzerland, Ukraine and Russia.
