Belovezhskaya Pushcha is located at the junction of two geobotanical zones: broadleaved European area and Eurasian coniferous zone. This forest is a testing ground for scientific research. Dead wood is not cleaned, it is studied.

The first laws on the preservation of Pushcha were published in the 15th century.

The period of the World War  I was catastrophic for Pushcha. It was under occupation and underwent mass deforestation. Several million cubic meters of wood was cut down. And 330 kilometers of railway was built for its transportation.

The protected territory of Belovezhskaya Pushcha can be attended only by passes.

It is forbidden to collect mushrooms and berries, but it is possible to conduct research and  monitoring nature without removing biological species from nature.
