British architect to help rebuild Slonim synagogue

The world community has united to give a new life to the Belarusian architectural monument of the 17th local city authorities, charitable organizations, historians, scientists have joined their efforts to prevent further destruction of the masterpiece of architecture, the century, the Slonim synagogue. Tszwai So, architect of the Belarusian Memorial Chapel, who is keenly interested in our architectural school, visited Belarus this week.

The Belarusian Greek-Catholic Church was built in London according to the original project of Tszwai So 3 years ago, The wooden building received the prestigious award of the Royal Institute of Architects and entered the top 50 of the most beautiful buildings in the capital of Great Britain.

Słonim synagogue was included by Europe in the plan of salvation. The project was initiated by the Jewish Heritage Foundation. Experts studied the shrines built before the Second World War from Ireland to Russia. Slonim Jewish prayer house is one of the first in the list for restoration. Now the search for sponsorship is going on. In total, according to preliminary estimates, the restoration project will take at least 6 years and cost $ 6 million.
