Belarusian writer Svetlana Alexievich wins Nobel Prize in Literature 2015

Belarusian writer Svetlana Alexievich has been awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature 2015. This year’s nomination featured five more authors, including Haruki Murakami.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has sent his congratulations to the Nobel Prize winner. “Dear Svetlana! Please accept my congratulations on being awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature. Your works do not leave indifferent both the Belarusians and readers from around the world. I am sincerely happy for your success and hope that your award will serve the state and the Belarusian people. I wish you good health, happiness and new achievements for the benefit of Belarus”, the message reads.
