The Belarusian State Academy of Music has obtained a unique grand piano by the world-famous company Steinway, purchased by the President’s Special Fund for Talented Youth Support. Two Steinways arrived in Minsk yesterday, one of them intended for the country’s main music educational establishment. The choice was made by Igor Olovnikov and Yuri Gildyuk, as well as the Academy’s teachers and young talents. The musical instrument will be available to students.
The Steinway piano has replenished the Music Academy’s collection of particularly valuable instruments, which also includes a unique violin by Andrea Guarneri.
By the way, the admission campaign finished yesterday at the Academy, the most popular specialties being academic singing and bowed string instruments.
