The TV News Agency continues a series of reports on the results of the last five years. Today we will speak about the Belarusian language. It is the property of the people and an integral part of the historical and cultural heritage of the country. One of the benchmarks set by the IV People's Assembly was to preserve and spread our mother tongue. Today Belarusian writers are known and read in Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Armenia.

Soon the Anthology of Belarusian Poetry will be published in Azerbaijan. Publishing House Zvezda has entered into an agreement with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

In 2017, our language will be honored at the world level in connection with the 500th anniversary of Belarusian book-printing. Native of Polotsk Francis Skaryna glorified not only his city, but also all the people of Belarus, since he created Europe’s first printed book, and it was in the Belarusian language (more precisely, it was the Old Church language in the Belarusian version). This is an official holiday in the calendar of the UNESCO.
