The 12th Yuri Bashmet International Music Festival has come to an end. For two weeks, admirers of music enjoyed classical music and the sounds of unique ancient instruments, and among them was the legendary violin of Antonio Stradivari.
The secret of Stradivari’s violins remains just that. The soloist Julian Rachlin owns one of them. His violin – Ex-Liebig – is 313 years old and it is worth tens of millions of dollars. Today, Rachlin is one of the most brilliant violinists of the world. He conducted the performance at the Grand Hall of the Belarus State Philharmonic as well.
The music by Mozart was performed by Sarah McElravy from Canada. She is the winner of a number of international music awards and the founder of the Chamber Music Society. She plays in quartets and ensembles. In a duet with Rachlin, she has traveled and performed on many stages around the world.
