Throughout his lens the whole world saw the collapse of the Soviet Union. Yuri Ivanov was one of the few photographers who had access to events with participation of top officials and attended state holidays and protocol events without his camera. The heroes of his chronicles are cult figures of the era, among them public figures, politicians, musicians, poets, artists and representatives of the working class.
Ivanov is the author of well-known photos of the legendary VIA Pesnyary. By the way, the photojournalist got acquainted with the musicians on the eve of the sensational tour of the band to America. Then the assignment of the editorial team grew into a strong friendship with the main songwriter, Vladimir Mulyavin.
In his portfolio there are no compromising pictures, Ivanov never went beyond the bounds of ethics, although he could. The images of a famous photographer can be seen not only in newspapers and magazines, but also in the history of textbooks.
