By Polina Ivancha: The Writer and Time symposium is discussing relevant issues in view of the current political events in Minsk. Its participants were addressed by President Alexander Lukashenko.
The international writer community could not help touching upon the topic of peace. According to Chairman of the Belarusian Writers’ Union Nikolai Cherginets, Belarus has become a political springboard for resolving world conflicts, and the writer's voice should sound louder to protect peace.
The symposium features more than 30 writers from 15 countries, including Armenia, China, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Russia and Ukraine.
30 best Belarusian researchers and more than 60 photographers devoted two years to create a publication destined to become the winner of the national Book Art contest. The Belarusian Castles album has officially been presented today to visitors of the 22nd Minsk International Book Fair and will be later released with a circulation of 3,000 copies.
Also, a new name in Belarusian literature has been officially revealed today at the national exhibition centre BelExpo. Oksana Khvashchevskaya from the Gomel region became the winner of the First Chapter contest. Her book can be found on display until 15 February.
