By Natalia Bordilovskaya: For five days the Symphony Orchestra and soloists of the Belarusian State Academy of Music, including violinist Oleg Yatsyno, will be touring Belarus’ regional centres.

More than 100 students of the Belarusian Academy of Music, half of which are international competitions winners and laureates of the Special Fund for Talented Youth Support, will visit Belarus’ university centres to meet with peers and present their art. The tour was made possible thanks to a grant of the President’s Special Fund, one of the 400 grants allocated by the Special Fund throughout the 20 years of its existence. Over the past few decades of the independent Belarus, over 14 billion rubles have been allocated to support about 3,000 talented young people.

The tour’s repertoire includes world and Russian classics, original works by modern Belarusian composers and a selection of war-time songs. It will finish on 29 September with a gala concert on stage of the Belarusian State Philharmonic as part of the 10th International Yuri Bashmet Festival.
