By Alexandra Dragun: This Sunday, 30 April, Minsk will host "Vytoki" (Beginnings) – a festival of Belarusian culture. Several venues in the Upper Town will hold musical and handicraft events.

The festival is a novelty for Minsk. It will feature pop music performers, choreographic groups and folk craftsmen. The main concert stage will be located on Svoboda Square. A fair of artisans will be located along the streets of the Upper Town.

More than 200 craftsmen will demonstrate their straw craft, musical instruments made of wood, leather goods, and pottery. The fair will tell the audience about traditional techniques and crafts of Belarusian ancestors. Ensembles "Tsernitsa", "Nerush" and "Khoroshki" will also perform.

The festival of Belarusian culture will finish late in the evening. "Khoroshki" will perform at the closing of the fair. This is not the only street festival that will take place in Minsk. This year, "Vytoki" begins the season of music evenings in the Upper City.
