The Palace of Independence has brought together a record number of people who have contributed to the formation of an independent state. And of course our first cosmonauts, famous athletes, scientists and heroes of Belarus. Many foreign guests were present as well.

Since the opening of the Palace of Independence all important events take place here one by one: the integration summit, the historic visit of the President and of course, Norman Quartet meeting.
The Palace of Independence during the inauguration hit the record of attendance.
The ceremony in Minsk was followed by reporters fr om all over the world, from US to China.
For a solemn oath that the President says there is a special copy of the Constitution. The Basic Law of the country in a leather cover with embroidered emblem. The text of the oath is common for every inauguration, it is stated in the 83rd article of the Constitution.
In the hall of the Palace of Independence, Alexander Lukashenko appeared in red tie. As experts say, this color is a symbol of strength and energy. Walking past the cheering guests, the President manages to shake hands with former Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma and the head of the CIS Executive Committee Sergei Lebedev.
Alexander Lukashenko, puts his signature, after which the head of the Central Election Commission presents a certificate of the President. Another tradition of the ceremony is Address of the President. In fact, this is an appeal to all Belarusians, and to the world community.
Leonid Kuchma, ex -President of Ukraine:
"The main thing that I liked, that what he was saying, he is a great believer. When a person has such a belief and faith, he is sure to be successful. If we talk about Ukraine, you know that was not enough, the unity of all political forces in the election of the main course. "
Archbishop Claudio Gugerotti, Apostolic Nuncio in Belarus:
"Belarus is the only republic of the former Soviet Union, wh ere there are no beggars. All people have the first and foremost human right to live, to work, to have access to medicine and education. I wish Alexander Lukashenko to keep it. "
Andrea Victorin, ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Belarus:
"I am confident that we will actively develop relations between the EU and Belarus during the new term of presidency. Belarus and EU should jointly confront global challenges and threats, have more dynamic cooperation in the economic sphere. And I wish that the President and the people created new opportunities for everyone. "
