This week, the President has familiarised himself with a total of 12 scientific projects nominated for the State Prize in Science and Technology as of 2016, presented every two years. Alexander Lukashenko studied all the works in detail, pointing out that presenting state awards should not be of formal nature. The most outstanding projects should receive well-deserved recognition.
According to 2016 results, know-hows in organ transplantation, industry, mechanical engineering, agriculture, oil development, construction, technology and history have been presented. Those are the best innovative advancements that allow the country to develop successfully in various spheres. The President insists on the most equitable approach to studying the applicants’ works and selecting the winners.
One of the projects belongs to the History Institute of the National Academy of Sciences, who studied the origins of Belarusian statehood.
Among the state award nominees is the staff of the Republican Scientific and Practical Centre for Organ and Tissue Transplantation. Its experts perform 500 surgeries per year, constantly implementing innovative technologies and saving the lives of both adults and children. Belarus is the CIS leader in this sphere. The country’s transplantology achievements allow exporting medical services.
