By Natalia Breus: On 11 and 12 September Alexander Lukashenko will hold talks and a number of official meetings with the leadership of India, including the meetings with President Ram Nath Covind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Alexander Lukashenko has visited this country twice, thus supporting a high-level dialogue.

Two years ago, the first official visit of the Indian president to our country took place.

The development of cooperation will be discussed, mainly in the trade-economic, political, scientific-technical and humanitarian spheres, as well as tourism. The commodity turnover between the countries is approaching half a billion dollars, but this figure obviously does not correspond to the potential of the states.

The sides will discuss interaction of Belarus and India in the format of a Eurasian integration, new opportunities for investment cooperation. The officials will also exchange views on topical issues on the international agenda. An Indian-Belarusian business forum will take place in New Delhi, where representatives of business circles will hold negotiations.

Having come to power in 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised to modernize India, to spur industrial production and infrastructure. With its technologies and goods Belarus can be very useful and become a timely and reliable partner on the way to Europe and the EAEU.

The competition is high, but Belaz returned to this market after a long absence. A joint service center was created. This year, the plant plans to participate in a major tender for the delivery of dump trucks.

The demand for intelligent and skilled specialists grows in India. Belarus can help train these specialists.

This visit of the Belarusian president will contribute to the transition from simple trade - the supply of fertilizers, fiberglass, machinery - to joint investment, including assembly of combines and quarry equipment.
