The aim of the conversation was the construction of a new complex of office buildings in Minsk for the Belarusian Orthodox Church. Spiritual center will be located adjacent to the current building of Minsk diocesan administration. During three decades the number of parishes in the country has increased five times.
It is clear that the old building does not meet the requirements of the time. The President supported the initiative.
The administrative buildings of the Belarusian Orthodox Church was built at the expense of own funds and sponsorship. Alexander Lukashenko and Metropolitan Pavel also discussed cooperation between church and state. The conversation touched upon the planned meeting of the Head of State with the members of the Synod of the Belarusian Orthodox Church.
