The sports calendar of the coming years promises to be pretty busy for Belarus. This week, it was announced that Belarus will host the 2019 IBU Open European Championships. The ccompetition will take place on 18-24 February. Also, a few months later, the same venue – Raubichi – will host the Summer Biathlon European Championship.
Also, Belarus has already submitted to the IBU its applications to host the World Cup stages and the World Championship.
At the same time, the Belarusian Football Federation announced they have submitted an application to host the 2020 UEFA Super Cup. The main venue of the competition would be Dinamo Stadium in Minsk. Its reconstruction should be completed this summer. However, Belarus will be competing against 8 other contenders. The UEFA will announce its final decision in May.
To top it off, Belarus is already preparing to host the Second European games in 2019 and the IIHF World Championship in 2021.
