Security is a priority and no political ambition can rise above it

The President touched upon an important and high-profile topic of the week. The Federation of Trade Unions invited Belarusians from all over the country to the very centre of Minsk to a rally for peace and tranquillity, which we have all been so lacking in recent months!

Consolidation of the whole society is what this large-scale meeting was conceived for. The organisers planned that over two hundred thousand Belarusians would gather in Minsk; they were to become part of perhaps the most massive support campaign.

And the day before, while visiting  Slutsk District, the President thanked everyone involved in the implementation of this plan. But one should not take risks, given how many people were expected, Alexander Lukashenko stressed. Security is a priority and no political ambition can rise above it.
