Belarusian humanitarian aid arrives in Syria

Belarusian humanitarian aid arrived in Syria. Representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus, together with representatives of the embassy and local authorities, started unloading the containers that carry nearly 25 tons of essential goods, as well as food. The cargo will then be divided into equal parts and sent to three Syrian provinces – Latakia, Homs, and Damascus. This is the third batch of humanitarian aid that Belarus provides to the Syrian people, but for the first time the cargo arrived by sea.

Alexander Ponomarev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Syrian Arab Republic: "Our principle of allocating aid is based on direct interaction with the government, governors. Therefore, the presence of the Governor here is evidence that we have direct contacts, we prefer to work without intermediaries. We also have a program of visits to shelters, orphanages, refugee camps. And in the near future, we plan to launch these programs so that the vulnerable receive this assistance directly and can use it."
