Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and Angolan Foreign Minister Georges Rebelo Chicoti discussed cooperation opportunities this week. Partnership relations with Angola started being established last century, and now cooperation needs to be enhanced in all directions ranging from agriculture and industry to student exchange.

Negotiations are underway on setting up a plant in Angola to produce Belarusian agricultural machinery with the prospect of entering the markets of African countries. Besides, Angola is interested in Belarus’ experience in agriculture. Belarus is also ready to offer assistance in the construction sphere.

Belarus’ exports to Angola are increasing dramatically. Last year’s mutual trade exceeded 40 million dollars and has amounted to more than 30 million over the first four months of this year. Belarus primarily exports tires, agricultural equipment and potash fertilizers to Angola.
