Belarus to host ASE Planetary Congress in 2018

Belarus will become the main platform for international discussions of space exploration problems and achievements in 2018. This decision has been made by the Association of Space Explorers at a meeting in Toulouse, France. The event that will bring together about 200 astronauts from all continents is expected to not only enhance Belarus’ tourist attractiveness, but also bring scientific dividends to the country, for example, new agreements with the international space community.

Belarus is famous for its cosmonauts Petr Klimuk, Vladimir Kovalyonok and Oleg Novitsky, who is currently working in orbit. The history of Belarus’ space activities dates back to several centuries ago. Belarusians’ achievements in near-earth orbit belong to not only pilots, but also to engineers, navigators, as well as the inventors of space maps and military aviation and cosmonautics technologies.
