Food security of our country depends on agrarian workers

By Alesya Vysotskaya: Belarus has summed up the results of the agricultural year and awarded the country's best farmers. Over 400 people were invited to the solemn ceremony attended by the Head of State.

Painstaking and sincere work on soil will certainly bring fruits and recognition. Many agrarians left the ceremony with high state awards and on new Belarusian crossovers!

Belarusians have learned not only to grow and produce their own clean and natural products, but also to compete well on foreign markets.

The year 2018 has been announced the year of small Motherland. The work of the agrarians is, perhaps, the most important investment in its development.

Though these people do not expect rewards for the hard labor, honoring of the best agrarians will become a regular event.

The agro-industrial complex occupies 40 percent of the country's territory. It employs 303,000 people who, together with scientists and industrial workers, ensure the food security of the state and earn foreign currency through exports. The result of the year is 15 percent growth and almost five billion dollars earned from the sale of Belarusian food products abroad. Belarusian products are appreciated by 82 countries of the world. In the world rating Belarus is on the 39th place judging by the quality and safety of food. At the same time we occupy the fifth place in the rating of world exporters of dairy products. This is an exceptional breakthrough. The main achievement of the year is the record of milk yields. For the first time the yield of 5 tons per cow has been reached.

Of course, the village experiences certain problems. They require constant attention.
