By Alexei Adashkin: An international festival in the village of Alexandria is kind of a cultural bridge between the three peoples of Belarus, Russia and Ukraine. President Alexander Lukashenko has been consistently participating in this festival, which takes place in his small motherland. Alexandria attracts more and more visitors each year. This time, the organisers expect the event to be attended by 100,000 guests.
Alexandria’s Friendship City is hosting a large scale fair featuring over 600 artisans from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine and Lithuania. Over 150 different on-site trade outlets are offering both food products and non-food items, various souvenirs with the symbols of the country and the Mogilev region’s cities and districts, as well as with the Kupalle emblem. The total length of the trade exhibition near the Dnieper river exceeded 700 m.
The two-day festivities on the banks of the river Dnieper will feature the gala concert Kupalle Tale, performances by Belarusian, Russian and Ukrainian artists, 3D effects, a laser show, traditional Kupalle fires and colourful firework displays.
