The victory of our athletes is our ideology. This message of the President, which he delivered on Monday, should become the leitmotif of the work of the Ministry of Sport. It is true that the victories of our Olympians can unite the whole country in an instant, because passion for sports is universal.
Sport as an industry that is being closely followed by all Belarusians has long needed a strong manager. Thus, Alexander Lukashenko appointed Sergey Kovalchuk, the ex-employee of the Presidential security service, head of the Ministry of Sport. It is now up to him to build an efficient system of work in Belarusian sport. Helping him will be First Vice-President of the NOC Andrey Astashevich and Deputy Prime Minister Vasily Zharko.
