The U.S. is already considering the possibility of lifting sanctions against the potash industry of Belarus for six months in exchange for a corridor for the transportation of grain from Ukraine. This was reported by the Wall Street Journal newspaper citing sources in the U.S. administration. The idea is to transport the Ukrainian grain by rail via the territory of Belarus to the port city of Klaipeda, instead of sending it by sea via the Black Sea. According to the paper, the UN and a number of diplomats support the initiative.
