Food security issues, finish of harvest campaign and new strategy for one of the most promising agro-industrial enterprises in Belarus

Today, the President visited Dzerzhinsk Agricultural Plant, an enterprise with a 40-year-long history. Its main specialization is the production and processing of broiler chicken meat. Today the plant produces one fifth of all products made in Belarus from poultry meat, and has more than 200 types of its own products.

The Minister of Agriculture reports that only 9 percent of the country's farm areas are left to be harvested, the state order for grain is almost fulfilled. And there is no problem with buckwheat.

The agribusiness has a strategy for the next 5 years. The construction is underway in several districts of Minsk Region. For example, a new breeding and processing complex will appear in Kopyl District. It is planned to receive up to 6 thousand tons of meat products per year. New production means new jobs. There'll be about half a thousand of them. The first deliveries of Belarusian turkey will be made to Russia.

The most advanced equipment allows the company to expand the range of products, and thus to offer food novelties. Even the countries of North Africa and Middle East have become interested in the products. Constant shipments are made to Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine. 

The President also talked to the labor collective. Alexander Lukashenko commented on the current situation.
