Vietnam has started distributing Belarus’ humanitarian cargo delivered there on Sunday.
In November, Vietnam was hit by Typhoon Damrey which became the strongest storm to have struck the country in the last 20 years. The province of Khánh Hòa is one of the five most affected regions. Here, 45 people died, and material damage was estimated at 700 million dollars.
According to local authorities, people still need essential products, blankets, and tents. Thousands of families in Vietnam still have difficulties with housing and food.
Vladimir Goshin, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Vietnam: "It was a very tough test for Vietnam, but the Vietnamese are very strong, and they do not make display of their troubles. And they are very grateful for the help, because any help, however small, is so much better than a thousand beautiful words."
The list of Belarusian humanitarian aid was drawn up in strict accordance with the request of Vietnam. The total weight of the 330,000 BYN cargo is 40 tons.
