Russian oil supplies to our country will resume in the previous volumes not later than April 13. And the new agreement on oil will be effective until 2024.
This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko following the results of the talks in St. Petersburg. The scheme of further work and the opportunity for mutual concessions in the oil and gas sector was determined by the Presidents of Belarus and Russia. The parties also agreed to sign an intergovernmental agreement within the framework of the Unified Energy System on a single gas market.
The price of gas for our country will be reduced starting next year. Experts have already calculated the overall economic effect from the agreements on oil and gas reached. Within three years it will amount to about two billion dollars.
Vladimir Semashko, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus: "Oil supplies to the Republic of Belarus will be resumed in the volumes that are approved by the current agreement, that is, 24 million tons per year. This is beneficial for our factories."
