Strong regions is one of the accents of the strategy of social and economic development of Belarus. In the next five years special attention will be paid to the development of the agro-industrial complex in Vitebsk Region. The region will increase agricultural production by a quarter. Several dozens of cattle-breeding complexes are to be restored. The construction of a robotized farm will be completed in Orsha District. Two of the country's largest pig farms will also be built. A new breed of cows will be tested in the experimental farm. The farm should become a base for breeding work. Another task is to retain young personnel in agriculture.

Nikolay Sherstnev, chairman of Vitebsk Region Executive Committee: "We took an unprecedented measure to pay extra 1000 rubles from the regional budget to graduates, who came to work in agriculture, cattle breeding in particular, so that young people, in particular veterinarians and livestock experts, could come to work to the country."

The farmers will also receive support in the coming years. This will allow developing new niches and increasing self-employment in rural areas.
