A meeting of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission took place in the online conference mode today in Moscow.

The list of goods in shortage like protective masks, glasses, disposable gloves, medical suits, and disinfectants will be banned for export outside the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.

The commission suggested reducing import duties on essential goods in the near future.

Andrey Slepnev, member of the board for the trade of the EEC: "Trade experiences increased pressure from consumers. We will work out the list of goods for which tariff protection will be reset, duties reduced within a week. This applies to food, baby food, baby products, a wide range of medical supplies."

EAEU countries agreed to take mutual decisions regarding the transport of goods across borders in the context of the spread of coronavirus. The agenda also included the situation with labor migration in the Eurasian Economic Union. This topic requires an operational solution because due to restrictions on entry introduced by most EAEU countries, many of their residents are now experiencing difficulties.
