Mutual trade in the EAEU increased by more than 30% in 8 months of 2021. The EAEU business forum "Integration" took place in Moscow. The participants offered new joint projects which will help the countries of the union to enter the path of the economic growth. Today, there are already more than 14 thousand enterprises with participation of the EAEU business. And their number will increase. According to specialists, by the end of 2022, the economic growth will be 5% per year. For this purpose it is necessary to introduce modern technologies which will help build a unified information space. This will accelerate the exchange of data between the enterprises of the Union, increase industrial relations and reduce trade risks. One of these tools could become a digital platform of the EAEU.
Sergey Glazyev, a member of the Collegium (Minister) on Integration and Macroeconomics of the EEC:
This is a digital project. Russia has created a large information system, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, which allows everyone to enter into cooperation with Russian companies, look for partners, counterparties, optimize the bundling of goods. We want to extend this experience to the entire EAEU. The directorate of this digital initiative has been set up now; it is located in the Belarusian Hi-Tech Park, and we expect that by the end of the year they will already come out with the first results.
The forum participants also noted that the growth of mutual trade is growing. For eight months of the current year, it amounted to 31%. In the European Union it is only about 20%. This suggests that the EAEU has a serious potential to increase cooperation.
