Today, the information space of the Union State is filled with news coming fr om the V Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia. The Union dialogue continues in Mogilev. Every year this event becomes the culmination of the development of regional ties. Fr om year to year its economic effect grows. This year, contracts will amount to half a billion dollars. The geography of the participants is wide. The mood for constructive work is already bearing fruit. The first agreements are documented, which underlines once again the mutual interest in strengthening integration. A meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission of the Council of the Republic and the Council of the Federation was held today. Work was also carried out in sections wh ere such issues were discussed as the situation in the agrarian sphere, economic security, harmonization of legislation and other topical questions of the Union State. The main event of the forum will be a plenary session with participation of the leaders of the two countries. It is expected that Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin will arrive in Mogilev tomorrow.
The share of Russian regions in the foreign trade turnover of the regions of Belarus is on average 60%. The parties want to strengthen partnership through exports and cooperation. The portfolio of contracts concluded at the forum will reach half a billion dollars.
The questions discussed here, in Mogilev, are much broader and include the creation of agricultural machines, the introduction of new resources and energy-saving technologies, the formation of joint breeding and genetic centers. Belarus and Russia have finally confirmed and signed the trade balances for the next year.
On Monday, the minister announced, he will continue his conversation with Russian partners on lifting restrictions on Belarusian enterprises, which have been temporarily banned from supplying products to the neighbors' market.
Traditionally, the forum tries to discuss the maximum number of questions: digital economy, youth policy and security, trade barriers, food clusters, industrial integration. Mogilev has an impressive list of experts these days - about two thousand people participate in the events. No wonder. Belarus and Russia are developing together in all directions.
The Forum of Regions is traditionally a presentation of the wealth of folk art. 20 regions of Russia and all regions of Belarus have presented their national stands with crafts and artists.
Tomorrow the work of the forum will begin with the Belarusian-Russian Business Cooperation Council. It will be held for the first time. Afterwards, the participants of the business meeting will meet at a plenary session, wh ere they will discuss regional partnership, which determines the development of the union. Tomorrow, the heads of our states are planning to join the big regional conversation.
