Minsk to host first Belarus-Oman business forum to today

20 сентября 2016

Belarus considers Oman as a promising trade and investment partner in the Persian Gulf region, as stated by President Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting with Oman’s business circle representatives.

Since the beginning of the year there has been a certain positive trend in the development of trade between the two countries. However, the trade turnover remains very low. At the same time, the Belarusian President believes that the economic cooperation potential of the two countries is huge and will be in demand. Belarus has achieved serious success in mechanical engineering and is ready to deliver machinery to Oman and set up joint ventures.

The first Belarus-Oman business forum in the history of bilateral relations is scheduled to launch in Minsk today. In addition to Oman’s 40 major business representatives, the event will feature about 100 Belarusian entrepreneurs. The participants plan to develop a concrete cooperation plan. Oman’s businessmen are particularly focused on industry, real estate, trade and high technologies. Belarus is ready to deliver quarry, mining, road construction and municipal machinery to Oman.
